Each year, fashion designers, reporters and enthusiasts all gather in New York City for Fashion Week. This is the one week out of each year that people in fashion live for and Fashion Week has become a well known event in NYC. Designers create cutting edge designs and ensembles just for this week and each year this is the event that brings new names to the forefront of fashion while well known designers wow attendees with their newest attractions. The Academy of Art University is a well known, national school that has an impressive school of fashion. Students from this University travel to New York City each year for Fashion Week and this year, a number of recent graduates brought their designs to the runway to showcase all that they have learned.

This year’s Fashion Week in NYC was the Academy of Art University’s twenty-first show that they participated in. Their show took place at the Skylight Clarkson Square venue this year and showcased were five women’s fashion designs, two men’s designs and two more collaborations. Ten students in total participated in creating these designs and they all earned a degree in either a bachelor’s degree of fashion or a master’s degree in fashion. People in attendance were impressed with what these young designers had to show.

The melting pot of students at the Academy of Art University makes this such a diverse school with so many different cultures and talents. Students travel from all over the world to be part of this university, including students from China and the East Coast of the United States. Some of the attendees were well known such as Sara Kozlowski (The director of Education and Professional Development), Ms J Alexander from America’s Next Top Model fame and many more.
